Meet the Staff
We would like to introduce your to our pastor, Pastor Brad Lowrie and his wife Connie.
Pastor Lowrie is the youngest of five children born to N.W. & Greta Lowrie who now reside in Denton, Texas. Bro. Lowrie was born in Weatherford, Texas during which time his father was the Pastor of the York Avenue Baptist Church there. Our pastor has said often that while growing up he told others that he “would never be a preacher, but you better never tell God ‘never’”. “I saw the hardships and heartaches that came with ministry and thought that I never wanted any of that” pastor says. His parent’s ministry was one of taking struggling churches or churches that were in financial difficulties and God would use them to “resurrect” the work, make it stable, and seemingly move them on to another “work in progress”.
Working with the bus ministry, leading the music, and then teaching his first Sunday School class at 15 years of age are how Pastor Brad Lowrie “cut his teeth” in the ministry. He attended the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Academy in Arkansas City, Ks. and graduated as Valedictorian of his class in 1984. He enrolled at Baptist Bible College in the Secondary Education program until this major was dropped and later graduated from Northern Oklahoma College. Up until this time pastor had not been called of God to preach but had a burden for ministry and to work with young people. Pastor and Connie met while in Bible College and were married On November 15, 1986. They both taught at the Hillcrest Academy before Pastor Brad surrendered to preach. Pastor Lowrie served as an Associate & Youth pastor in Ponca City, then Texas, and finally in Carthage , Missouri before serving as the interim pastor in Carthage. This was all valuable experience that God used to prepare them for the pastorate. The Lord allowed Bro. Lowrie to start the Calvary Baptist Church in Weatherford, OK in 2000. The year of 2002 took the Lowrie family to the Bible Baptist Church in Cassville, Missouri where they served for right at six years. February of 2008 brought change to the Calvary Baptist Church in Edmond as our founding pastor (Bro. Lowrie’s father-in-law) Bro. John Aldrich retired after 25 years in Edmond and over 45 years of pastoring.
Connie Lowrie is the youngest daughter of John & Barbara Aldrich. She was born into a preacher’s home, made a profession of faith as a young child, but at the age of eleven realized that she had never truly been born again and that day trusted Christ as her personal Saviour.
Pastor and Mrs. Lowrie are proud parents of three boys. Heath who is a pastors major at Heartland Baptist Bible College, Austin and Lucas.
